Father-daughter selfies were plentiful, duos dressed in princess dresses and top-notch suits filled the dance floor, and dads busted their best moves twirling smiling girls around. Castle Rock's annual Daddy Daughter Ball filled the event center at the Douglas County fairgrounds on Feb. 9.

Fathers and their daughters came for a night filled with music, dancing and photos. The event was open to girls of any age and their fathers. The theme in 2019 was “Vintage Hollywood,” made complete with a red-carpet entrance lined with “paparazzi” and glamorous décor.

While it was the first time attending for Eli Bergey and his daughters Teagan, 4, and Avery, 7, it was the third time for Eric Piperni and his 6-year-old daughter, Gabriella. Teagan said her favorite part of the evening was dancing. For Piperni, it marked the latest year in a heartwarming tradition with friends.

“It's fun, and we've got some friends,” he said pointing to a table full of people, “who we all hang out with.”
