Douglas County School District canceled classes for Jan. 18 due to forecasts for up to a foot of snow in the area overnight.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Denver metro area on Jan. 17, predicting six to 12 inches of snow in most areas from 5 p.m. Jan. 17 to 5 p.m. Jan. 18. The district closure applies to all schools and district buildings, except charter schools.
School activities, BASE programs and classes at Bridge Program, D.C. Oakes, Eagle Academy, eDCSD and Plum Creek Academy are cancelled.
Charter school families should check with their schools, the district said.
