Having fun on the Fourth of July

Posted

Residents turned out for a fun-packed day at Bison Park in The Meadows neighborhood of Castle Rock to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Shortly after the start of the event, dozens of children accompanied by their parents took part in a festive bike parade, where attendees rode scooters, tricycles and bicycles decked out with red, white and blue decorations.

From there, people dispersed to the many activities set up. Some waited in line for cotton candy while others sped through inflatable obstacle courses and slides. Mayra Alvarez said her family was having fun at the event as she picked up 2-year-old Jacob Angeles and 4-year-old Caleb Angeles from a train ride.

“We always come just for the kids. Especially for the trains,” she said. “We love kids events in Castle Rock.”
