Trump deserves praise

President Trump has been at the forefront of an unprecedented response to the outbreak of COVID-19, leading the way to protect Coloradans. By taking effective actions, the president’s top priority has been the safety, security and health of the American people.

The White House Coronavirus Task Force has been in constant communication with world, federal, state and local officials. The Trump administration is working closely with the private sector, allowing for an accelerated and comprehensive undertaking to combat the spread of the virus. Leaders from the largest health care, insurance and retail businesses are working with President Trump to defeat the virus.

This includes working with fast food restaurants to stay open, partnering with tech giants like Google to deploy online triage platforms and using software companies to track smartphone location data to track and isolate the virus. President Trump has also cut burdensome red tape to allow medical professionals to expand access to telehealth services and diagnose patients without having to leave their homes. In addition to the stimulus package, President Trump has directed the treasury to defer tax payments, provide tax credits and loans to small businesses, and waive interest on student loans.

Finally, by approving the FEMA disaster declaration in Colorado, President Trump showed Coloradans that his top priority is their health, security and safety. I think we can all hope that politicians will stop politicizing COVID-19 and work with President Trump and Republicans to stop its spread.
