According to the unofficial results the morning of May 4, as ballots are still being counted, Radloff had 918 votes. Also appearing to be elected to the board is Jason Blanckaert, with 987 votes at that time.
The two will be new board members as David McEntire, who currently serves as metro district president, opted not to seek reelection.
The two board members have been elected to three-year terms, and according to the metro district’s website announcement, will be sworn in to office during a regular board meeting on May 16.
The two board members are joining a metro district that has been struggling to find an answer to water issues facing residents living west of Interstate 25.
There had been a plan for the residents to be included in the Parker Water District, but due to a number of outstanding issues, the plan was halted.
The decision directly impacted 12,000 Castle Pines residents. In total, it equates to about 3,500 customer accounts that Parker Water would have obtained through the inclusion plan.
While water and metro district officials have said there is still hope to revive the plan at a later date, another election would have to be held to gain resident approval.
Until another plan is developed, the metro district has continued providing water and wastewater services to residents.
