Jefferson County has launched an app to make reporting road issues a breeze.
YourJeffco is a web portal and that app enables citizens, and really anyone else driving through, to report issues with roads and bridges maintained by Jefferson County.
The app, which can be downloaded for Apple and Android devices is a one-stop portal to locate important information about the county. YourJeffco also includes links to the Jefferson County website for improvement projects, news, jobs, department directory, and more.
Reporting a pothole, flooded road, downed tree, graffiti or scores of other issues is now as simple as pulling out a smartphone.
According to the county, YourJeffco integrates directly with the county's citizen request management software, QAlert. This integration allows users to submit comments and photos when notifying Jefferson County staff about an issue. Through YourJeffco, those submissions are then routed to appropriate departments or individuals for handling and resolution. Once your request is submitted, you can receive updates (via text, email or phone) while requests are addressed and resolved.
What it is
YourJeffco is a citizen engagement platform that allows citizens of unincorporated Jefferson County to submit road maintenance requests or questions via a Smartphone app, the Jefferson County website, and the website citizen portal.
This software will be helpful in multiple ways. YourJeffco works hand-in-hand with the county's asset management system to automate citizen request tasks so they are assigned directly to the crew that is responsible for the maintenance. In doing so, it eliminates a process that includes a customer service representative taking and entering the request and a supervisor from creating a task in the asset management system. This allows supervisors to be out with the crews more often and is increasingly relevant as the county experiences significant manpower shortages.
